Caraquet (N.-B.) – « On Tuesday, March 14th, 2017, ECO Technologies was officially informed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that the company’s truck theft which was perpetrated on July 1, 2016 – and was subsequently used to steal a lobster cargo in Grande-Anse (NB) – was committed by an organized crime network operating in Quebec and New Brunswick, but more importantly, that it was supported “in-house” by one of our employees.

Understandably, our team is currently in shock. We have trusted this person as an operator – one of our own – to carry out contracts across Canada, as well as in our operations in Mariana – MG (Brazil), both before and since the theft was committed.

The employee was advised that he will be dismissed for serious offense. While this is a tough time for us, we remain proud of our team of experts who perform marine, industrial and environmental interventions brilliantly in a multitude of industries and in difficult conditions.

This situation should under no circumstances be used as a ‘measuring-stick” to judge the character of our team members. A single employee was involved, and as such, should not impact one’s perception of our staff who display professionalism and integrity on a daily basis. On the contrary, we will come out stronger and more united than ever to continue to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations as we have done consistently in the past.

ECO Technologies would like to thank the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for dismantling this criminal network and for identifying this person working within our company. Our team has been working openly with the authorities since the event, and shall continue to collaborate with them moving forward.

We invite you to read the press release issued by the RCMP on these recent events: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/news/2017/14/police-charge-four-men-connection-lobster-theft

The company will not comment further on this issue. Thank you for respecting our employees’ privacy in this difficult time. ”
